About

Brass Band Northwest, Seattle Pacific University, and Common Tones Arts present the Northwest Brass Festival.

The Festival provides a full day of opportunities for brass and percussion musicians to observe, participate, rehearse, and perform with national and internationally renowned brass artists and clinicians.  Student soloists can compete for prizes in the College and High School/Middle School divisions, receiving critiques from the guest clinicians and artists.

Past Festival guest soloists and conductors/clinicians have included Jens Lindemann, James Gourlay, Helen Tyler Harrelson, Patrick Sheridan, Mark Gould, Philip Sparke, James Curnow, Deanna Swoboda, Salvatore Scarpa, Douglas Yeo, Jamie Hood, David Gordon, Stephen Bulla, Charles Villarrubia, Stephen Fissel, Allen Vizzutti, and Stephen Arthur Allen.

The Festival  ends with the evening Gala Concert featuring all the participating brass bands, the Festival Brass Ensemble, and the guest soloist.
